Abstract
|

|
To observe the effect of vagal stimulation on hepatic secretion of bile in human subjects, a study was done with insulin and/or atropine in eleven patients after clolecystectomy and T-tube choledochostomy.
The vagal stimulation induced by insulin-hypoglycemia produced a considerable increase in hepatic bile secretion, whereas when the vagal stimulation was interrrupted by atropine no change in hepatic bile secretion was observed.
